Blog 1 Assignment

My name is Taylor Mast and I am a transfer student this year. I am from Brooklyn Park, MD, right outside of Baltimore. Growing up I lived with my mom, my step-dad and my two sisters, visiting my dad and my brother every other weekend. I attended Brooklyn Park Elementary and Middle school, and I graduated from North County High school. I was a member of SGA, the POM squad, and the Dance Company. I have always loved to dance. After I graduated high school I attended West Virginia University for 2 years. While I was there I played on the schools rugby team. I had a lot of fun, but financial reasons brought me back to an in-state university. I am really looking forward to being at UMBC and getting to know the campus a little better.

  1. Do you still dance? I always wanted to take lessons growing up, but couldn't because of financial reasons. Do you have any dancers you enjoy watching? I am a fan of Bob Fosse and Ann Miller.

  2. That must have been a little tough to have to switch to a new college 2 years in. But, UMBC is a great school and maybe you could help our rugby team! Wish you luck with your transfer.

  3. I am very familiar with the Brooklyn Park/Curtis Bay area and actually don't live too far from it. It's definitely hard to go to the college (especially the one YOU want to go to) but things happen and we adjust. I, too, had to come to UMBC for financial reasons but it wasn't that bad after awhile. I should be graduating in May so I'm looking forward to getting out of here lol. I hope you enjoy it though.
